Witney Community Hospital is expanding and diversifying, this is an exciting time to come and join our friendly team where your contribution will be valued and appreciated.

We are an innovative team of nurses and therapists with support from doctors from both the acute hospital and General Practice. You will have an opportunity to use your core nursing skills whist using more advanced skills such as cannulation, phlebotomy, IV care, NG management and complex discharge planning.

We are looking at new ways of working to keep people out of hospital where possible and get them home sooner after they have been admitted.

We have 2 wards at Witney Linfoot with 22 beds and Wenrisc offering 24 beds. Both wards deliver rehabilitation to people following a period or treatment in the acute hospitals in Oxford or Swindon. Linfoot ward also cares for people for a short period following an assessment by the Emergency Multi-disciplinary Unit also on site. Both aim to get people back to their own homes as soon as they are ready with or without care.

The Hospital site hosts the Emergency Multidisciplinary Assessment Unit, a Minor Injuries Unit and Out-patient Department. We also have x ray facilities in the hospital.

We aim to reduce the length of stay by working with our medical and therapy colleagues in an integrated model of care and deliver rehabilitation with every intervention.

We are piloting several new initiatives including Care Closer to Home’ getting me home’ beds, falls safe and a carer’s support project. We have successfully piloted and rolled out the Creating with Care project delivering arts and crafts to patients as part of their therapy.

We are looking for full and part time Band 5 nurses and can offer a variety of shift patterns. There will be opportunities to work in the other areas of the hospital for the successful candidate.
