About the job

Oxford is a thriving University City with a broad range of things to do; visiting historic sites such as the University of Oxford, Bodleian Library and the Oxford Castle & Prison.  There are green spaces including Christ Church Meadows and the University Parks, and an abundance of eateries and independent shops.

Our CAMHS services in Oxford are based at Raglan House. Oxford is easy and fast to reach by train from London with a frequent service from London Paddington. There is also a regular service between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone via Bicester as well as a service to the North via Banbury and Birmingham New Street. There are several park and ride locations with cycle hire available at some sites.

The central Oxfordshire Getting Help/Getting More Help team was recently nominated and has won the 'Highly Commended' award for Nursing student placements.

The role offers a rewarding opportunity to work as part of a thriving multidisciplinary team with a strong and supportive clinical network of consultants. There are well established support structures in the team(s) including consultant peer supervision and PDP groups. We are committed to staff development and job enrichment. Our CAMHS transformation work is tailored to each county but in all areas involves innovative work where your contribution will be highly valued and encouraged.

Oxford Health is a leading Trust for teaching, training and research, with close links to both Oxford and Oxford Brookes Universities. Weekly academic meetings, regular research meetings, research opportunities, journal clubs and audit meetings all take place.

In addition, there are extensive opportunities for teaching and training of medical students, postgraduate doctors, members of the multidisciplinary team and other service providers, and for mentoring consultant colleagues.

We offer a £15,000 recruitment bonus and a relocation allowance of up to £8,000 to eligible candidates. Also available is a cash alternative payment, equivalent to the employer contributions, in circumstances where staff opt out of NHS Pension Scheme membership due to the Lifetime/Annual limits on pension value.

Benefits of working for Oxford Health NHS Trust include:-

  • Excellent opportunities to take on additional roles, for e.g. Leadership, Management, Clinical / Educational Supervisor, Safeguarding Lead, etc.
  • 33 days annual leave (pro rata if part time), plus bank holidays, with an increase to 35 days with 7 years consultant service
  • NHS Discount across a wide range of shops, restaurants and retailers
  • Staff accommodation
  • Lease car scheme
