Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.
We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Clinical Research Nurse to join and build a high quality research team that is well integrated within the wider organisation. This will include leading the highest quality of care in research practice and demonstrating leadership in research and practice governance. The post holder will provide clinical management and leadership to nursing and other research staff working in R&D (including the Clinical Research Facility), will contribute to enhancing the profile and capacity of nursing research across OHFT and will support the development of other research nurses to promote efficient and effective research delivery across OHFT. The post holder will be committed to innovation and collaborative working, through connecting and working across many organisations within and outside of Oxford including NHS clinical services, R&D departments, Universities and other research centres. This post would suit someone with extensive mental health nursing experience who also has a hands-on background in clinical research.
The R&D team comprises research support and administration and three research delivery teams: the NIHR Oxford cognitive health Clinical Research facility (CRF) delivery team, the mental health research delivery team, and the dementia research delivery team. Disease areas include mood disorders, schizophrenia, and dementia. R&D is primarily based at the Warneford in Oxford but in 2018 research space was opened at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury, thereby increasing the opportunity for research participation for those living in Buckinghamshire.
The CRF supports intensive research studies that are not feasible within the routine clinical care setting and works closely with OHFT Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) in partnership with the University of Oxford to deliver cutting edge experimental medicine.
The post provides a unique opportunity to work with teams delivering research protocols that aim to translate research findings into benefits for patients. Opportunities are available for the post holder to expand their research experience by undertaking research themselves working with leaders in the field at the University of Oxford’s Department of Psychiatry and Oxford Brookes University.
The ability to work confidently and autonomously is essential.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
