We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

We have an exciting opportunity for a patient-orientated, innovative and professional pharmacist to join our pharmacy team based in Oxford. If you have experience in, or a passion for, mental health pharmacy, we would love to hear from you.

As a specialist Band 7 mental health pharmacist, you will:

  • Be based on a clinical site in Oxford, providing a clinical pharmacist service to in-patient wards within the Oxon directorate. The ability to travel between sites will be required.
  • Be responsible for the development of excellent clinical relationships with patients, carers and other healthcare professionals, and supporting them with their medication issues.
  • Be part of our dispensary screening Hub rota.
  • Be included in the weekend working and on-call rota.
  • Be supported to attain a post-graduate qualification in psychiatric pharmacy, if applicable to the post holder.

The Oxford Health Pharmacy & Medicines Management service employs approximately 60 staff, predominantly clinical pharmacists and technicians, supported by dispensary and administrative staff. Clinical pharmacists and medicines management technicians (MMTs) are based on clinical sites, with supply and support functions at hubs in Oxfordshire. The department provides services to our mental health in-patient and out-patient teams, including Forensic services, Learning disability services as well as community hospitals. Our Medicines Management Service is highly respected, and our staff are considered integrated members of the patient-focused multi-disciplinary teams in this Trust.
