Are you an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse or are you soon to be qualified?

We are interested in recruiting nurses who are either looking to gain skills in inpatient mental health nursing or more experienced Band 5s who is wishing to develop the range and breadth of their knowledge and skills with a view to developing into a Band 6 role.

We are committed to supporting your career progression and we have strong links with Oxford Brookes University.  We will provide you with a full induction or preceptorship programme if you are newly qualified as well as regular support groups and teaching sessions on a wide range of topics to enhance your experience.  You will have the opportunity to gain new skills and experiences as well as earn more money if you choose to work as part of our staff bank.

Allen Ward provides acute care environment for 20 female patients who require support in an acute phase of illness. Allen ward aims to provide the highest standard of care in a safe, caring and excellent way, ensuring that care provision is collaborative, holistic and individualized. The ward commits itself to ensuring that care delivery is based on collaborative and continuous assessment of mental and psychological needs, risk reduction, physical, spiritual and social needs. Allen ward aims to provide services that respects the privacy, dignity, choices and confidentiality of each individual patient, acknowledging their culture, ethnicity, physical ability, gender and religious beliefs.

We aim to help the patient achieve their full potential by working within a multi-professional framework in a friendly environment and with local services and external agencies.
Applicants should be highly motivated and have some working knowledge of working in an Acute setting. A basic understanding of psychiatric illnesses, risk assessment, care planning, the Mental Health Act, de-escalation principles and positive engagement is preferred.
