Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

We wish to appoint an experienced Psychodynamic Psychotherapist to join our friendly and skilled team of psychological therapists, within a Community Adult Mental Health setting. You will be working with clients with long term mental health problems who have experienced significant adversity as well as with their families and carers. You will provide psychological assessments and interventions, supervision, support and line management to other psychological therapists, as well as provide consultation and guidance to our colleagues in the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).

We look forward to receiving your application if you have skills in delivering therapy to this client group and can demonstrate evidence of significant knowledge in your specialist therapy area. You will also bring a good working knowledge of evidence based Psychological Therapy and an interest in further training in interventions such as mentalization based therapy. You will have sound clinical risk assessment and management and experience of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. In addition, you will have substantial experience of supervision with therapists and other clinical staff, a desire to work collaboratively with colleagues in the wider CMHT and a desire to play a positive and proactive role within the psychological therapies’ leadership team.

The team benefits from weekly team meetings and monthly reflective practice. Excellent supervision is provided by senior therapists to help you consolidate your therapy skills in a focused and supported way. It is expected that the post holder will make a significant contribution to the wider staff team via training, supervision, reflective practice, consultation and psychological formulation.

The post will be based at the Valley Centre in High Wycombe (community) and you need to be able to travel to other sites, including the Whiteleaf Centre, Aylesbury.
