Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

Two exciting Band 5 opportunities have arisen in the Oxfordshire Speech and Language Therapy Service.

Are you a strong team player who is interested in a new and exciting challenge? If so, you may be interested in one of these Speech and Language Therapy positions.

Oxfordshire Speech and Language Therapy Service is large and friendly with supportive and innovative managers and a strong vision for the development of the Service. We will offer you opportunities for clinical support and for further development of your skills through training. You will have excellent supervision and support from the Team.

We are part of an Integrated Service which includes Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and we work closely with Education colleagues. We also have close links with members of the team based at the John Radcliffe Hospital where the acute dysphagia, regional cleft palate and cochlear implant teams are based.

We have opportunities available across our three teams which are Early Years, Mainstream school and Special Schools. Posts can be configured according to the interest of the successful candidate.

We are looking for dynamic, creative therapists who will work as part of our teams, be supported by an experienced Band 6 colleague and receive ongoing regular support for your clinical work. We are an innovative team keen to develop new ways of working, and you will be encouraged to take part in development projects.

The post holders will ideally have some experience of working at Band 5 level but we would also like to encourage new graduates and post graduates to apply including those who have graduated in Summer or Autumn 2019.

You will:

  • Provide assessment, therapy and support to children and young people and their families in a range of settings
  • Work with families, setting staff and multidisciplinary teams, and build links with partners from Education Services in their locality
  • Work within the children’s speech and Language Therapy Team and be involved implementing evidence-based practice within the service and contributing to service development
  • Provide training and group packages as required
  • Support the use of signs, symbols and communication aids in the home and settings. This is what some previous staff have said about working in with our service in Oxfordshire….‘I feel very lucky to have such a good supervisor who is very supportive, knowledgeable and flexible. I have found supervision to be invaluable as a NQT’.‘This is the first trust that I have worked in where I have had good quality and helpful supervision'

These posts are for Qualified Speech and Language Therapists who are enthusiastic and motivated with very good communication, organizational and time management skills. Regular supervision will be provided and there will also be opportunity to participate in peer group supervision and group learning opportunities with other SLT’s in the service.

If you are interested to find out more please contact us. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss these positions with you.
