We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

The South Oxfordshire Older Adult Community Mental Health is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our award-winning service as a Deputy Manager. Working alongside our other deputies your key duties will be in leading and supporting the day to day working of our clinicians, offering supervision, overseeing our duty function and performing key roles in the management of the team. As well as this you will be required to carry a small caseload of patients with complex mental health needs.

You will need to be organised, flexible and committed to delivering the highest possible care to our client group. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good lT skills are essential.

Ideally you will have experience of working in older adult mental health services and understand the challenges that working with this client group brings. However, if you have transferrable skills and are motivated to learn about our client group we would encourage you to apply.

We are a friendly, supportive and proactive team where you will receive regular supervision as well as plenty of opportunity to develop your skills. There is a culture of high standards of care and any successful applicant will need to be committed to maintaining this. The team works closely with a wide range of internal and external partner’s including GPs, district nursing, therapy services, ambulatory care, physical and mental health inpatient providers and Oxfordshire County Council. The service has strong links with the South Oxfordshire Integrated Locality Team aimed at delivering well-coordinated patient care and to share our respective skills and knowledge with one another.

The team’s primary base is at Abingdon Community Hospital with additional offices in Wallingford and Thame Community Hospitals. Core working hours are Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00. Out-of-hours support services are managed via a team rota and include weekends and 17:00-20:00pm.  Deputy Managers and Manager are also part of the on call rota as Duty Manager for the Mental Health Directorate.
